that traffic looks very nice through downtown. it's 5:08, let's go with steve. >> sal. >> yes, sir. >> big trade for the giants are you happy. >> good, good bat to have. temperatures yesterday warmed up inland by the coast, just that fog hanging on. so, inland areas it burns off and it's sunny and we warm up. but i think we topped out yesterday or we will just carry it into today. fog, and it's clear, even in areas that warm up into the 90s they get up into the upper 50s. we'll have that july spread on the temps about 35 degrees for some between some on the coast and some inland. high pressure continues to hang out but it's not going to make it too far to the coast. it's not going any where. the system that was in the pacific northwest kicks off. that allow it is high to move in but looks like things have stabilized here. low mid- to upper, 260. west southwest at 12 at fairfield. nothing hollowing it's very close to what we had yesterday. maybe just a hint stronger. so i don't think temperatures warm up any more than they did yesterday. if you're away from the coast it'll be warm to hot. i

. along the coast 60s and 70s. here's sal. >>> steve, right now southbound 101 the big crash is the connector ramp to 92 east. that is blocked here. also southbound 101 right at 92. the freeway not all the lanes but three of the lanes are closed because of this crash. now it is so early there's only a little bit of a back up. not a significant one. they are looking for some people who were involved that ran away from the crash scene. it's going to make it take a little bit longer to get this crash out of the way. also this morning we're looking at the commute on 101 san francisco. that looks good. it's 5:00. back to dave and pam. >>> overnight firefighters were busy chasing and putting out grass fires in contra costa county. ktvu's tara moriarty joins us now from bay point with the reason why these fires may be related to the 4th of july holiday. tara. >> reporter: well, no official word yet on what exactly sparked these fires but witnesses tell us there was a lot of illegal firework activity in this area last night. as you can see by the conditions it's pretty windy out here

looks good getting up to highway 18. at 5:08 let's go to steve. >> another big fog bank out there and it's giving us also some drizzle so we have to deal with that. today will be very similar to what we had over the weekend. breezy to windy at times, already gusts to 30. about the same tomorrow, by the end of the week looks like that fog will be getting a little shallower, it does look warmer 80s and 90s coming back for us in the sacramento san joaquin valley. we keep dealing with a low coming in from the pacific west, that ramps up the fog. then high pressure in the middle of country tries to head back west but it's been trying to do that for the last two months. we have some fog in the coast, but it has no problem getting back out. everybody coast and inland 80 degrees. west south wind or a west wind when it's 27 at travis and southwest at vacaville. any time they get a south wind in this kind of a pattern that's a cool breeze. once the low kicks out, temperatures will gradually start to come up. it's a gradual the warm warm up. breezy to windy and that will be out of the west. drizzl

next year m weekend is a big deal for commuters. today, tomorrow and sunday, they'll close the highway both directions between capitol expressway and the 286 and 80 interchange. and tomorrow it will reopen at 5:00. and sunday morning it will reand at 7:00 -- reopen at 7:00 a.m. so the same section will be closed at midnight till saturday morning and then on sunday morning between midnight and then 7:00 on sunday morning, the big advisory that you need to know about. >>> firefighters this morning are battling a grass fire near livermore. it is burning along interstate 580 near patterson pass and lynn road. so far it has burned 600 acres. no structure have been burned. >>> we now have developing news this morning. firefighters in oakley are on the scene of a house fire. and more on the one person that was forced to go to the hospital. >> reporter: the person that was sent to the hospital has serious injuries this morning. i can show you this. this is the house that caught fire early this morning. around 2:30, you can see the east fire investigator work right now. they're trying to determ

about on 880 and 29th. it's not causing a big deal. but we'll tell you about it anyway. and this morning's commute has been busy. i'll show you some things here on highway 4. traffic is moving along relatively well coming up to the will will he pass grade. and things look good on the other side in concord. we talked about this is a nice looking drive on 880 heading north and south. and if you're driving in richmond on 580 eastbound coming down toward the mccar they are maize away from the -- mccarer maize away from the bridge, there is an accident and it will take them a little while to clean up that. >>> 70s and 80s now on the coast and bay side an upper 80s and low 90s inland. we're starting off slightly warmer here. some of the higher elevations are run being five to seven degrees warmer. that is the sign that the highs are building in. a breeze in concord and the oakland airport. and the system that was in the pacific northwest is ejected out and that is allowing the high pressure to slip towards the west. a north wind, not strong, but it's there it takes care of the fog quickly. 60s

at a san francisco bart station. ktvu tara moriarty says there are still big questions after last nights deadly confrontation. >> reporter: police did recover broken class and three bowl casings. it's providing clues to what happened last night on the civic center station platform. sirens wailed as an ambulance rushed the suspect to the hospital. he was pronounced dead within an hour. the initial 911 call came in at 9:30. authorities say the suspect was on the station platform. he appeared intoxicated, stumbling around and wobbling. now two bart officers arrived at 9:45 and within one minute three shots were fired. at least two bullets striking the suspect. investigators found saturdays of glass at the scene. >> they will be met with required force. something occurred that they were threatened. something forced them to use utilized force. >> reporter: in the wake of officer grant shooting, there may be a heightened public awareness regarding this solution. it has doubled training hours since that incident. it is conducting an investigation alongside san francisco police. we don't have ve
